november progress

unusually pleasant weather made it great for working outside.  These two guys are making a project list for the winter.

Barbara is revising the project list.

Here you can see a mound of dirt that needs to be smoothed out.  Hopefully this will happen November 30th

the siding is vinyl and is backed by insulating foam.  it is more rigid than vinyl siding without backing and adds to the R value of the walls

one of the hold ups was this bathroom wall.  you can see how much material was removed from the studs to accomodate the pipes.  Final solution was to double up the studs.  Simple.

I had hopped to beef up the cieling and make a floor for attic storage but got to it too late.  It may yet be a project for later.

progress stalled out

framing did not pass inspection.  Part of the problem was that the front wall was too flexable so two posts were put in on either side of the door

this had nothing to do with inspection, but was a detail that had to be finished before insulation goes in

Its a flue pipe that extends from the basement to the roof

this scar with pipe is the well.  We got lucky with the well.  Good water.  At least the volume is good, no telling how it tastes



Saturday Shed Work

So, John, Barbara, and Matt went out to finish the cabinets and do a little planting Saturday while I was getting a massage...so I can take no credit in helping with the work, just taking the pictures, but this is the finished product of the cabinets at the shed. They turned out really nice!

John also put shelves on the wall inside the shed to help with storage.
